Mexico with Dayspring Outreach Ministries…. Tentative dates—June 3-June 12th (depending on travel arrangements)
TFC will partner with Dayspring Outreach Ministries for this trip. Our team will experience real life mission experiences on a short term trip to Mexico. We will experience helping with a building project, working hand in hand with native workers, being involved in ministry to children and adults, experiencing the beauty and culture of the interior of Mexico and making a difference in others lives. Dayspring has over 18 years experience in youth mission trips to Mexico. Dayspring trips are safe and take place in the interior of Mexico, at several different locations, away from the problems and dangers of the border towns. They will be providing housing and transportation across the border. Our team will experience real ministry and impact the lives of those they work with and minister to. YOU MUST HAVE A PASSPORT TO GET INTO MEXICO. IF YOU DON’T HAVE ONE YOU MAY WANT TO START THE APPLICATION PROCESS NOW, THIS WILL BE AN APPROXIMATELY $120 ADDITIONAL PERSONAL EXPENSE. This will be a great cross cultural experience and it will provide you with an experience far outside your comfort zone! Support requirement $1000
Cary Christian Center—Cary, Mississippi – Tentative dates – May 26th—June 7th (depending on area school calendars)
The Cary Christian Center is located in the heart of the Mississippi Delta — close to the mighty Mississippi River — serving people who are trapped in poverty. It’s an area where there is a deep sense of hopelessness and despair and the Cary Christian Center has chosen as their mission to “break the cycle of poverty through relationships one person at a time.” Nineteen percent of the Delta population lives in poverty and many of these households are female-headed with 47% of them living with incomes below poverty level. TFC has partnered with the Cary Christian Center for many years so we know on this trip we are guaranteed lots of work—we may be shingling, painting, sheetrocking, working in a thrift store, etc. — and doing it all in the context of building relationships with people so we can play a role in helping them break out of the cycle of poverty as we touch them with the hope of Jesus Christ. It will be our challenge and joy to help point them to the truth of Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you…plans to give you a hope and a future. You won’t be leaving the country on this trip but it will provide you with a great cross cultural experience and move you way outside of your comfort zone too! Support requirement $650
