The Northern Valley TFC group meets in the Congregational Church basement where they have allowed us to turn it into TFC land every Wednesday night at 6:00 for supper and a fun meeting.  We start out the night by eating supper together and then we have a  great time playing games and digging into the Word of God together to see what it has to say about life. This group first began in 1982! The character of Northern Valley TFC for years has been that it is group that has an incredible atmosphere of love. Teens over the years have commented again and again that at NVTFC they feel safe and loved! Because Northern Valley is a small school — anyone in the 6th grade through 12th may come to the weekly meetings. Our meetings are organized so that the needs of both the junior high and senior high students will be met. Our goal is to train students in the group to become leaders of the group so they will then be equipped to lead the weekly meetings.

Lavonne Ponstein is the director of the Northern Valley TFC Connection group and the Logan TFC Connection group — Plus working out of the TFC office in Phillipsburg, KS and helping with the daily nitty gritty of the TFC ministry.  She started her 25th year of ministry in August of 2003. Does she have any regrets? None! She grew up and went to school at Northern Valley and that is now where God allows her to work with students

Originally she thought she was to be a teacher and a coach but God moved her into the position where He was able to change her heart. He enabled her to have a job at TFC where she has been able to teach countless number of students the precious Word of God. He has allowed her “to coach” in a way that has eternal results. He created in her a heart of a Shepherd and the greatest joy of her life is to have a role in watching teens connect with Christ, grow in Christ and become disciples who are equipped to go out and live out the Great Commission
