Home / Financial Statement
We believe the way an organization handles itself in the financial arena is a reflection of its integrity in every arena. Therefore, we have established strict limitations on the way we solicit contributions and the way our resources are used. Here are the guidelines the board of directors and executive director has implemented.
1. This ministry belongs to God… not to the staff, executive director or board of directors of TFC Connection. We are merely servants in the work of the kingdom.
2. The Lord has chosen to place His mantel of approval on the ministry of TFC Connection. Nevertheless, He gives and sometimes takes away. If He ever closes the door to this work, we will accept His leading and yield the outcome to Him. Until then, we will devote every ounce of energy to the task at hand.
3. One of the ways we can discern the Lord’s will regarding the continuation of our work is through the support He provides (or doesn’t provide) from His people. Therefore, during the lean times, we will make our obligations known to our friends- but we will not squirm, scratch or claw for contributions. We will never resort to what we consider disrespectful or dishonorable methods of fund raising, even if our needs are serious.
4. We will ask people not to support TFC Connection until their obligations to their local church have been met.
5. We will not operate the daily activities of this ministry at a deficit. As we sense God’s direction in large capital expenditures, we will first make our needs known to our friends. After which we will consider the necessity to borrow funds. We will always try to be current with our vendored purchases and remit payment upon the date due.
6. Donations given to TFC are viewed as ‘sacrificial’ gifts – sent from loving people who have sacrificed to make their gifts possible. Our commitment is to spend that money conservatively and wisely in continuing the ministry. We will do our best to meet the needs of today’s teenagers with what we have received.
7. We will receipt all donations and show the fair market value of non-monetary gifts to help contributors determine the tax-deductible portion of their gift.
8. We will not try to raise more money than we need.
9. The executive director and the board of directors do not receive a salary, or expenses from the general fund for their work in governing this ministry. The executive director, like all other staff members, will raise his/her own financial support.
10. We will never sell or rent our mailing list to those wishing to use their names and addresses of our supporters. Our supporters write to us in good faith, and if they wanted to receive mail form other organizations, we’re sure they would ask for it. We will maintain the tightest security on our lists of friends and supporters.
11. We will conform to the Biblical principles of stewardship and financial management. A compilation of financial statement with full disclosures is provided annually by a CPA firm in Phillipsburg, KS. The board of directors also reviews the finances monthly. Our financial reports are always open to those who have a genuine interest and reasonable cause in the financial operation of TFC Connection. TFC belongs entirely to the Lord. We are responsible first to Him, then to our supporters for the overall function of this ministry.
